Full Moon Snowshoeing up Schwarzsee

I have had such amazing experiences here in Schwarzsee. There is no limit to the fun that can be had here. This week I went on a full moon snowshoe up the mountain of Schwarzsee. My host parents and a group of their friends get together every year on a night of a full moon for this excursion. I was so glad to be able to tag along this year! We met at the bottom of the mountain at 5p.m. when it was still light out. At the top of the mountain there is this restaurant that is only open on nights of a full moon and this group had made a reservation weeks in advance. It took us about 2 hours to snowshoe to the top of the mountain. In the restaurant were pots and pots of fondue screaming our names. It was warm and gooey and just hit the spot after that like up the mountain. We ended up staying up there until around 11p.m. before making our way back down. As soon as I stepped outside I could see the snow glowing from the moonlight. The moon was so bright I could see my shadow. There was no need for our headlights. The trail was naturally lit up for us all the way down the mountain.
